If you are looking for a durable and dependable light with plenty of stamina that won’t break the bank, look no further than the Cajun Bayou Plus! A truly professional level light, at an entry level expense.
The Bayou Plus is offered in a bump cap or soft cap with a hard liner insert. The liner makes a huge difference in how the cap fits and distributes the weight evenly. It also has good ventilation to help keep you cool. The Bayou Plus wears extremely well and is an overall well-balanced light with great burn time to keep you hunting and never leave you in the dark. The Bayou Plus has over 110 hours of burn time in the low setting and 2.5 hours on high, providing more than enough light to find your way. So, lets break the Bayou Plus down and take a closer look.
The first thing I noticed when I picked up the Bayou Plus was the solid one-piece head construction. It’s a very sleek yet simple and rugged design. As a guy who spends plenty of time hunting wet conditions, I really like the solid head construction. The walking light bracket attaches at the rear of the head. This keeps everything streamline and keeps it from hanging up in the brush. The wiring for the walking light also enters the head at the rear of the head making it more durable. The main head/walking light rotary switch is located on the right side of the head unit while the flicker switch is located on the right side of the battery box. The main head switch rotates backwards to control the walking light, and forward to operate the spot beam. For the main spot, you have 4 levels of brightness. The nice thing with the Bayou Plus is all 4 levels of light power are significantly different, not like some others with very little variation between higher power levels. The walking light is contained in its own housing. As you rotate the switch backwards you will have low and high levels of white, red, green and a single level of amber. To shine an amber beam, you must flip the switch located on the battery box. This will activate both the red and the green led at the same time producing the amber light.
This is a very hard light to beat for the cost. Do yourself and your wallet a favor and grab a Bayou Plus, you will not be disappointed.
